I’m still trying to figure out how this ended up in the best picture category for the 2008 Oscars.
As well as why Criterion choose to release this (on Blu-ray).
It was very very very long and very very very sad.
I don’t think it’s David Fincher’s worst film (that would be Panic Room) but it’s far from his genius Fight Club and Se7en.
Worthy of a dollar a night rental through one of those redbox* kiosks in your local grocery store…. That’s about it.
Hmmmm though I don’t believe they have Blu-ray at those kiosks just yet.
You’d be missing out watching it in standard def.
They did a great job on it (visually).
So if you can find it for a dollar to rent on Blu-ray (not gonna happen) then pick it up. Otherwise skip it.
*the website logo has the r in lower case so deal with it.
