I liked it.
This was a “blind buy” for me. I picked it up on Criterion Blu-ray for 18 bucks (there was some sort of crazy 50% Criterion sale going on). Well worth it if you ask me.
At first I didn’t like the ending.
I was sad that it was over. I wanted to watch more.
After I got over the initial reaction (of being sad). I thought about it and realized it was a fitting end.
Then about 20 mins later I found out that it was the first in a series of films and thought it (the end) was even more fitting.
There are 3.26 (.26 since the second one is a short) more movies in the series. There was no intent to make that many I heard. They just ended up happening.
They all have the same lead (Jean-Pierre Léaud) and director (François Truffaut). I’ve thrown them all in my movie rental queue.
