Trying to watch Thor Ragnarok, style is cool, but writing/stuff so far feels like a College Humor parody.
ME:
It’s the best Marvel movie to date.
Why is it like a parody?
Danger Moose:
Family guy style long pause while he swings around to face the fire demon thing…TWICE. Guy with the stripes on his bald head using a shake weight while he’s supposed to be doing something else.
Seems like there was a quota for attempts at humor per minute regardless of what the mood of the scene is.
ME:
Gotcha gotcha. never thought of that. When you’re done tell me what you think.
Danger Moose:
Doctor Strange segment was just as cringey, but now that Hella has gone through and Thor’s in this junk planet with Tessa Thompson, it’s leveling out.
Mister Bee:
I liked the Dr Strange part
Danger Moose:
Thor: You could have sent an electronic letter: email. Dr. Strange: Do you have a computer? Thor: No
(shrug)
And him just stumbling all over. Come on.
Mister Bee:
Every MCU movie I watch.. .I think to myself. This came from a comic.
ME:
Exactly
Mister Bee:
So either I’m pleasantly surprised, or it just meets expectations
Ragnarok has some weird parts, but also some great parts. Stick it out!
Danger Moose:
I think I was to pre-hyped about it I guess. I expected it to be clever/subtle. Not broad and slapstick.
I’m into the weirdness. I’ll finish it.
Mister Bee:
it’s thor, he’s not clever
he’s like a barley smarter version of hulk
Danger Moose:
Jeff Goldbum is making it work.
Mister Bee:
yeah he does
Danger Moose:
A Disney Marvel (kids) movie where they repeat ‘orgies’ several times. 🤭
Danger Moose:
I really like the design of the city and space ships on this planet.
The big wolf looks good, I wish they could have figured that out for Game of Thrones instead of mostly leaving them out of it.
